The smelting and refining operations produce refined zinc, lead, silver, gold, cadmium, bismuth, indium, copper sulphate and copper arsenate. As part of pollution control measures at the smelter, Trail Operations produces sulphuric acid, sulphur dioxide and granulated ammonium sulphate fertilizer. Also at Trail is Cominco's Research Centre that provides facilities for investigating a wide range of metal recovery processes, as well as land reclamation and effluent treatment methods.
